The vision of an AI ban in my mind also fits the description of contest creating, entry creating and using AI to enrich/summarise/generate story, impressions and such.

If anyone is using it for research, I feel it doesn't necessarily break the rule that started this whole thing.

Okay, so based on the feedback, it seems that we are all agreed to an AI ban for GenAI and no using an AI system to input/create contest structure/perimeters/composition, and absolutely no inputting anyone else's submissions into any AI analyzer of any sort... hopefully I'm saying that properly. I don't actually use it in any meaningful way to know every aspect/definition of what's happening in the systems to describe it better. If this feels accurate we can agree to inform EA of the decision at this time.

Alright I feel like much of what Bambi wrote is good, I tried to rewrite it a bit including phrases from some of you others. I'm not sure I'm the best with the lingo of this so please feel free to edit and rewrite in order to make it as simple yet exact and all encompassing of what we want it to include. But as a first draft for the precise wording for what is to be posted in the SWC rules, how about:

The Story Writing Community has agreed to ban AI use in all contests. By this we mean that it is forbidden for contestants and hosts to use GenAI to prompt, enrich, summarise and generate any form of text, images or other media for use in contests neither is it allowed to use pre-existing media made using AI. This also includes a strict ban on inputting anyone else’s submissions into AI agents and programs for any reason.

Let's get done with this!

To me, it seems like the community has been stuck in place on this issue for far too long. I want you to get back to doing what you love and have this far behind you.

Sorry for not chiming in sooner. Your rewrite was good with me (as was Bambi's original post).

My suggestion is that if no one else posts anything objecting within the next 24 hours we move forward with this, from what I can tell everyone is okay with a full AI ban and/or willing to adhere to the group consensus which was an AI ban so that should hopefully end this once and for all.

Sorry also for my delayed response. I think what you wrote is great and am glad you took this step in solidifying the wording.
