You’re at the try-outs – in the final round of them and you see your judge - the amazing Just Ice - a hero who is an inspiration to so many!
Next to you there are some other people. They are your competition but also your future possible co-workers. Maybe you’ve noticed their quirks in the previous selection round, maybe not. You were probably busy trying to pass it yourself.
James
FC: Justin Lacko
Age: 23
Quirk: echolocation and frequency range manipulation (able to locate objects by using sound waves like a bat, along with that he can use different frequencies to communicate with different species)
Traits: intelligent, sarcastic, competitive, stubborn, manipulative, holds grudges for a very long time, reserved, not that talkative
About him:
James is one of those people, who get more interesting the more you know them. He’s prone to making a comment if he deems it worthy of his time, but you won’t see him throwing those just to anyone. He’s not actually that social to approach people with ease, nor that rude to comment when unnecessary. He’s mostly silent, but quite often surrounded by people. It’s easy to blend into any crowd when you don’t stand out, isn’t it?
Aidan
FC: Keith Carlos
Age: 22
Quirk: Regeneration (able to completely regenerate all of his body parts, life expectancy: unknown)
Traits: fun, communicative, flirty, talkative, positive, unreliable, always late, dishonest
About him:
Aidan looks good and he knows it, he also knows that the key to being a social butterfly like him is to always offer smiles and always ask questions – even when you know the answer to them. He knows people like to be seen so he gives them that – a few minutes of his time, always accompanied with a lot of questions, showing genuine interest. But that’s the way he acts with everyone. Then at one moment he has an excuse why he has to leave. But hey, he leaves you in a good mood and you’re happy someone finds you interesting enough to want to know so much about you.
Draco
FC: Sven Csongar
Age: 20
Quirk: patho- and mnemokinesis (ability to manipulate people's feelings/emotions/moods and memories)
Traits: carefree, reason-driven, ambitious, persuasive, argumentative, humourful, picky eater, nit-picking
About him:
Draco is an ambitious young man who joined this thing in pair with Rose. Although not blood related, the two are siblings from a very early age and their family ties are as strong as those can get. Draco is not much of a pleasant person to be around. He’s rarely in a good mood and he can find a fault in anything. It’s almost like a reflex of his to complain about something. That is perhaps why the two siblings hang out with each other more than with others. But the few who do hang out with Draco, say he’s actually a very funny guy – if you ignore the nit-picking part of him, you get to learn how to enjoy his company.
Gin
FC: Mizushima Hiro
Age: 21
Quirk: superhuman speed and agility
Traits: prone to mean comments even if without mean intentions, not emphatic, not keen on jokes but keen on puns, very intelligent but bad in recognising subtleness in communication or sarcasm, lazy
About him:
Gin is a surprise. When you see a guy like him you immediately jump to a conclusion that he’s knowledgeable and a great student. However, he does not study nor does he read – he’s just intelligent. Once you know his quirk you’d also assume he’s keen on sports and leads an active lifestyle, which is also incorrect. He loves just lying in the bed, being lazy and if there’s another way to do something, without him being a part of it, he’s very much up to it.
Rose
FC: Rosie Tupper
Age: 19
Quirk: Force field (ability to make a barrier of energy, plasma or particles to protect a person, area or object from attacks or intrusions or as a means of containment or confinement)
Traits: sharp, calm, rude, jealous, easily scared, loyal, reliable, patient
About her:
Rose is very fond of her own space and time. She doesn’t enjoy people entering her personal space and unlike others she can actually build a force field to keep you away from her. She is very patient but she is also one of those who boils from within as long as he can until it explodes. Even if she’s hard to approach, the ones who do are all important to her and her loyalty is unquestionable.
Just Ice
FC: Dwayne Johnson
Age: 53
Quirk: superhuman strength, endurance and speed, manipulation of ice
Traits: cheerful, optimistic, active, loyal, honest, persistent, caring, brave, helpful, warm-hearted
About him:
Just Ice or as people actually call him Justice is the bravest and strongest hero on the world. He’s an inspiration to many and the symbol of hope. His kindness and optimism is seen in his ever-present smile, which radiates safety. He always has this smile, even if he’s making you run laps for the 70th time today.
Neil
FC: Luke Grimes
Age: 24
Quirk: intangibility (can phase through objects)
Traits: book-smart, not talkative, cold, disinterested, perceptive, meticulous, hard-working, relaxed
About him:
Neil seems relaxed and carefree most of the time, because you’d never see him with his head buried in a book. You’ll also never hear him speak self-initiatively. Surprisingly enough he knows a lot about chemistry and molecular density because of his quirk and he finds it crucial to learn everything he can about it in order to understand it even better. But most of the time you’ll see him scribbling things into his black, old notebook, as if he’s not interested in the rest of the world but bored with it.
Jake
FC: Christopher Larkin
Age: 22
Quirk: mimicry (the ability of imitating someone or something; their appearance, voice and even their quirk)
Traits: impatient, likes to provoke, avid gamer, likes having fun and teasing people, great cook, hard-working
About him:
Jake is an amusing guy, who enjoys enjoying himself. He’s got very strong work ethics, but also a good sense of when he needs to take a break and just enjoy himself a bit. He often gets into tiffs and fights, because he’s keen on mocking people and doesn’t have a lot of patience for rudeness or stupidity. When he’s not practising mimicry, staring at the mirror he goes and plays some football or just jogs.
Now, the final selection isn’t necessarily an elimination one, but a skill-based one. They are judging your bravery, your strength and your reactions in dangerous situations. You’ll be attacked by specially designed robots and you’ll be disabling them or just wrecking them in order to collect points – they are the enemy. You’ll also notice neon yellow ceramic piggy-banks lying around the enemies – those are the victims you’re supposed to save. They are very fragile and very heavy because they are full of coins. Treat them with care – just as you’d treat a living being.

Surprisingly enough all of you pass. Some with more serious, some with less serious injuries. You’re taken care of medically and given a week to pack your belongings and transfer to the apartments the institute has given you.
As soon as you get there, you’re starting with trainings. The best Hero of the world – Just Ice, will be teaching you and making you train – he will destroy you. You will be in so much pain after the trainings, that you might even need help to get out of bed, It’s just muscle fever, though. It’ll pass.
What might be even less appreciated will be the biology and chemistry lessons, you’re all obligated to take – because guess what – you’re mutated, you should know precisely in which way your cells react and to what.
Breakfast and lunch are served in the cafeteria and you take care of your own dinner. You’re all sharing a common room with a kitchen and a lounge area, with rooms of your own.
This round has a time span of three months (June, July, August). All of which your characters will be mainly focused on honing their skills and getting to know others.

First Impressions - Join us for pancakes - DONE
“Is it just me or all are of us so brutally hot?” Aidan notices as he walks out of the showers into the common room, not even pretending to be shy, with a towel around his waist and another one around his nape.
“Yeah, both the guys and the girls,” Jake surprisingly agrees and flips the pancakes he’s making. There is already a tower of them but he claims they are all for him. But he already plans on sharing. Still, first he has to make them mad a bit.
“Mutated genes,” James interjects quite unnoticeably, but everyone hears and acknowledges it.
“Yea, we could either grow a third head or look amazing,” Aidan smirks, “I mean, did you guys see those chicks at the try-outs?”
“I was more focused on their quirks than their appearances,” Neil brushes off the conversation and proceeds to sit at the table to eat his dinner and escape this gossip party as quickly as he can. He, however, opens his booklet and notices a few gaps in his notes, which forces him to engage in conversation, “Did any of you catch some of the less noticable ones?” he asks, hoping to get out more information.”
“One girl breathed fire,” Jake shrugs and flips yet another pancake onto the now quite alarmingly tall tower of them.
“Nayla,” Neil interjects.
“Yes, hardly anyone noticed that, I assume,” Draco points out in sarcasm and Jake grins back at the boy.
“Hot and breathes fire – can it get any better?” Aidan smirks.
“Well, she has quite harmonic proportions, so I assume that should count as getting better?” Gin reminds him, lying on the couch, wondering when did all of these people get here. Especially the guy with the naked torso and loose towel around his waist, who was quite literary hoovering over his head.
“If you ignore the constant view of the back of her mouth, one could appreciate her,” Draco agrees, with an omni-present negative comment from his side. A few brows are raised and are looking at him, curiously.
“She yawns, a lot,” Neil clears the situation, “It seems connected, not yet sure how,” he waves it off, he wants to go on, he knows all he can for now about her, he needs some of the less obvious ones, “Any information of Faylie?” he asks because there’s a blank there.
“Yep,” Jake surprises them, “I overheard Just Ice on the phone,” he points out and puts the pan into the sink, soaping the sponge, “I quote Don’t worry, old friend, we’ll take care of your daughter. Faylie is in good hands, she’ll learn time’s not something she should mess with.”
“Oh, that explains it,” Neil scribbles a few notes and nods to himself.
“I get it, she always wants to fix things by turning back time, but that messes up the whole timeline of other’s lives,” Aidan shrugs and throws himself into the couch, just next to Gin.
“Well, Justice will make her repeat the trainings more than the rest of us – if I understood him correctly,” Jake shakes his head, impressed with how mean the good man could be.
“She does remind me of that –“ Aidan suddenly seems to connect her to someone.
“That’s her mother, yes,” Neil brushes it off and scribbles, making connections far quicker than Aidan does.
“Well, easy to see where she got her superb looks from,” Aidan grins.
“Plus, you know how she’ll look in 20 years,” Jake jokes and Aidan laughs to the comment, before Neil interrupts them with the next person he’s analysing.
“There’s the force field girl, Rose,” Neil mumbles and Aidan opens his mouth with a smirk.
“No, she’s my sister, you are not going to say another word,” Draco looks at Aidan with that brotherly protectiveness and the man raises two hands in surrender. Neil also takes the hint.
“And the illusions girl,” Neil ticks next to her name, “Noah,” because he managed to get a lot of notes on her quirk.
“Oh, that was what that was,” Jake realises, bringing the tower of pancakes onto the table, next to Neil. He returns to get chocolate, marmalade and maple syrup.
“And here I thought they spent extra money on the setting,” James interjects once again from a corner.
“Considering your quirk is based on soundwaves – was the illusion as effective on you?” Neil asks additionally, flipping a few pages of his notebook to find James.
“No, she can’t create what she herself doesn’t hear for now, I guess,” he shrugs, “I could see it, but I heard there was nothing around me,” he admits and wonders if it’s possible for her to reach the level of mimicking the sounds he’s able to hear.
“Fascinating,” Neil states, without any fascination at all and Jake finally sits down to eat the pile of pancakes, “there’s also the attack-dodging girl, Maya,” he remembers and finds her name.
"Have all the granpas gone to the market to talk trash about the grannies?" Rose enters the room, seeing the boys are having far too much fun. She glances over Neil's shoulder, noticing the name, "Oh, the dodger," she adds and shrugs, only now noticing the pile of pancakes, raising a brow at the boy, hiding behind them.
"Dig in, grumpy guy's sis," Jake winks at her and she makes a face, but grabs a pancake. Nobody refuses a free pancake.
"It seems she's good at dodging physical attacks, not sure if she's any good with attacking," Neil continues his analysis and Rose reads through his notes more carefully, watching not to hover over him, but stand at an appropriate distance.
"If it's reflex bound, she should be," Rose mentions and finds the memory-drawer with the girl, metaphorically opening it and glancing though the snips that she has filed up in there.
"And if she's not, she'll learn to be," Just Ice appears at the door, his famous smile decorating his face. They all freeze for a second and greet the man appropriately, all of their eyes glued to his presence in jeans and a t-shirt, unlike all the other times they've seen him on TV in his trademark costume. Just Ice can see the potential in Maya and he'll make sure that this natural reflex of dodging gets properly honed, but also controlled. Weirdly enough sometimes you don't want to dodge an attack.
"Want some pancakes, Mister Justice?" Jake offers, stuffing his face accordingly.
"Don't mind if I do," he swiftly whooshes to the table and sits down before anyone can blink. He turns around to the door frame and nudges you guys to join in.
"Come on, girls, join us for pancakes."
